In addition to being home to the nation’s biggest mall, King of Prussia is rapidly developing into a center for retail medical marijuana, writes Sam Wood for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The shopping mecca will welcome its third medical marijuana shop, the RiSE Dispensary, on Nov. 26. All three are located near King of Prussia Mall.

The new dispensary is the retail subsidiary of Green Thumb Industries.

The Chicago-based multi-state operator was founded by Ben Kovler, an heir to the Jim Beam bourbon fortune. In addition to having locations in a dozen states, GTI has seven retail dispensaries across Pennsylvania.

And while no products will be made available for sale until the official opening on Tuesday, the dispensary held an open house on Saturday. This gave non-patients a unique opportunity to see the inside of the marijuana retailer.

Otherwise, the Pennsylvania Department of Health forbids anyone who is not a patient or employee access to dispensaries.

The new shop is located at 445 W. DeKalb Pike, in a former mattress showroom between a bank and a vitamin shop.

Herbology and Keystone Shops are the other medical marijuana retailers in King of Prussia.
