Valley Forge Casino Resort Pennsylvania’s Leader for Sports Betting
The Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia is leading the way in Pennsylvania for sports betting thanks to its partnership with FanDuel, the fantasy sports giant, writes Andrew Maykuth for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Sports betting grew to record highs last month in Pennsylvania, with Valley Forge, one of the state’s smaller casinos, surprisingly taking the top spot.
Bettors in Pennsylvania wagered $194.5 million on sports last month, which is an astonishing 78.4 percent increase from the previous month. Over the same period, legal bookmakers reported gross revenue from sports betting of $14.9 million, a 144 percent increase since August.
More than 45 percent of all sports bets placed in September in the Keystone State were wagered either with FanDuel or in Valley Forge’s retail operation, a total of $88.5 million in sports wagers.
The local casino reported sports-betting revenue of $5.1 million in September, with more than 92 percent of this coming from online betting.
Pennsylvania also benefited from the now legalized activity, taking in around $5.3 million in tax revenue from sports betting.
