Mascots are a must these days!

“We are thrilled to announce the newest member of our flock: Jay Jay! Designed in honor of our famous non-releasable Blue Jay, Conrad, Jay Jay will be making appearances at the Center for special events, birthday parties and occasionally on our outdoor Fledgling Trail,” said Carrie Barron, John James Audubon Center Manager.

The center will officially be celebrating his birthday on Saturday, October 19 from 10 am to 12 pm with a special party that includes some of his new friends: Monty the Fox from the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, Bubby the Bison from Elmwood Park Zoo, and Bertie from LEGOland!

“Jay Jay is our newest bird ambassador (if you will) and I couldn’t be more excited to share him with our friends and the public,” said Barron. “He is sure to brighten anyone’s day and help us out with any event or program we do. He’s going to be a great asset to the Audubon family.”

The VFTCB introduced Monty the Fox in 2017. Since then, he has participated in dozens of the organization’s events, as well as award-winning marketing and social media partnerships with area colleges, universities, and even professional sports teams.

“We are so excited to welcome Jay Jay to the Montgomery County mascot family!” said Mike Bowman, President & CEO of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board. “And, we look forward to seeing he and Monty work together to promote Montco as a great, family-friendly destination.”

“Having Monty elevates our reputation as a family-fun area to visit,” said Edward Harris, Chief Marketing Officer for the VFTCB. “He brings an element of excitement to our events, and enables us to expand our audiences.”
