Brandywine Realty Trust (BRT) is razing an old office building at 650 Park Ave. in King of Prussia.

The publicly traded real estate company said it will not begin development of a new $39 million proposed four-story, 100,000-square-foot replacement until it has a tenant in place, writes Natalie Kostleni for Philadelphia Business Journal.

BRT received approval earlier this year from Upper Merion Township for the demolition of the building, which was constructed in 1980 and sits at the intersection of Park and First Avenue.

BRT designed  the new structure to be visible from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, giving a prospective tenant a highly visible branding opportunity, reaching tens of thousands of motorists each day.

King of Prussia is booming. A new Topgolf location is planned for the former American Baptist campus and a massive $500 million biotech co-working campus has also been proposed.
