Montco places two high schools in Top 25 in PA

U.S. News & World Report's Best High School rankings are out, and Montco has no less than 11 schools placing in the top 50 in the state, with Wissahickon High School leading the pack. (Image courtesy Wissahickon High School)
Wissahickon High School leads the pack of Montco high schools in U.S. News & World Report’s Best High School rankings, coming in at number 11 in the state, according to usnews.com.
“Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP® participation rate at Wissahickon High School is 58%. The total minority enrollment is 35%, and 19 percent of students are economically disadvantaged,” according to the report.
The next best couldn’t be found until we reached Lower Moreland High School at number 16. Harriton High School in Lower Merion, came in at number 25.

After Harriton, following close behind, there were a number of Montco schools rounding out the top 30, with Spring-Ford Senior High School, Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and Lower Merion High school coming in at numbers 26, 27 and 28 respectively.  Perk Valley High School, 34, Haverford High School, 35, Abington High School, 37 and Jenkintown Middle/High School, 38.
Rounding out the top 50 was North Penn High School, coming in at number 50.
