The best way to make Easter memories that will last a lifetime is to join Peter Cottontail aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad! The Bunny brings gifts for all children and an Easter Egg Hunt right on board the train for all children up to 12 years of age.

Sisters in Freedom, a documentary produced by History Making Productions, tells the story of pioneering black and white women in the 1830s who defied social, economic, and cultural norms to come together to agitate against slavery, white supremacy, and inequality of race and gender. A presentation on the film will follow.

RUTH’S SPRING CLEANING

Pottsgrove Manor

Banish dust and dirt the colonial way at “Ruth’s Spring Cleaning” at Pottsgrove Manor on Saturday, April 13th, from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Roll up your sleeves to discover how people in the 18th century kept their homes clean. Take part in cleaning the reproduction kitchen, from sweeping away cobwebs to wiping down the hearth. Learn how to clean and polish tables and discover how wood ash was used as a cleaning agent. Lend a hand with the laundry to help remove spots and stains from fabric. See how soap was made and uncover the surprising ingredients used to make it. Living history interpreters invite all ages to take part in the hands-on history. Discover if your cleaning meets the high standards of an 18th century housekeeper at Pottsgrove Manor.

The Museum Shop will also be open and has books, soaps, period reproduction items, and much more. Tours of the 1752 manor home of the Potts family will also be available. This event is Rain or Shine and welcomes all ages. There is a suggested $2.00 donation per person.

Pottsgrove Manor is located at 100 West King Street near the intersection of King Street and Route 100, just off Route 422 near the Carousel at Pottsgrove and Manatawny Green Miniature Golf Course, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Pottsgrove Manor is operated by the Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites.
