Just a few years shy of their 100th birthday, Reed’s Country Store, the iconic furniture and lighting fixture at the corner of DeKalb and Skippack pikes in Whitpain Township, is calling it quits.

The plan to close down has apparently been in place for quite some time. There hasn’t been a post on their Facebook page since 2017, and the Going out of Business sign in the window facing DeKalb Pike make it official.

The store has been serving the Philadelphia area since 1925, according to their Facebook page. Described as a Country Furniture Store & Wicker Barn, Selling light fixtures, wicker, rattan, bedroom, dining and much more, Reeds has been a fixture at the well-traveled intersection through 16 presidents, going back to Calvin Coolidge.

There are still a few items left on the shelves, but not many.
