A. Scott McNeal, DO, becomes the new President and CEO of Delaware Valley Community Health, Inc. (DVCH)

By

Norristown Regional Health Center is located at DeKalb and Fornance streets in Norristown.

Dr. Scott McNeal assumes the role of President and CEO at DVCH after 25 years of service as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Delaware Valley Community Health, Inc. (DVCH), a community focused non-profit health care organization that provides affordable and accessible primary medical, dental and behavioral health care services in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware counties.

DVCH has grown significantly in the past two decades under Dr. McNeal’s clinical leadership from two original centers, Fairmount Primary Care (FPCC) and Maria de los Santos Health Center (MDLS) in North Philadelphia to opening Norristown Regional Health Center (NRHC), the first federally qualified community health center in Montgomery County; acquiring a struggling OB/GYN practice in Juniata Park, now Parkview Health Center (PVHC) that was serving mostly low-income, pregnant, Hispanic women; expanding Maria de los Santos Health Center to a new building to accommodate the increasing demand for services in North Philadelphia’s Latino community.

Between 2010 and 2017, DVCH began providing outpatient primary medical care on-site to patients at three behavioral health institutions: Horizon House and Girard Medical Center in Philadelphia, and Merakey in Sharon Hill, PA. These satellite health centers make primary medical services more accessible to patients with chronic behavioral health conditions, many of whom have difficulty receiving services elsewhere. And, in 2018, DVCH opened Maria de los Santos Women’s Health Center across the street from the main health center to improve access to OB/GYN care and shorten appointment wait times for women.

The board of directors confirmed Dr. McNeal as the new President and CEO after the retirement of former President and CEO, Patti Deitch in December. “The DVCH board is pleased with the transition and future of our organization. Dr. McNeal will continue to ensure that our patients are served with fidelity” said Board Chair, Nilsa Gonzalez.

Dr. McNeal received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He formerly served as the Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs, Chief Academic Officer and Attending Physician at North Philadelphia Health System (NPHS). He  is currently appointed to the boards of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Broad Spectrum, IPA, Philadelphia Health Partnership and the City of Philadelphia Board of Health. Dr. McNeal is married to Annette O’Neil, MD and they have two children, Nicole (Son-in-Law, Kris Jones) and Christopher McNeal.
