Philadelphia is steadily becoming a soccer town. And with the recent announcement by the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF ), the fan base could grow quickly.

On Tuesday, CONCACAF announced Lincoln Financial Field — home of the Philadelphia Eagles — will the host of a doubleheader in the quarterfinal round.

The Sunday matches taking place on June 30 will involve the winner of Group B facing the Group D runner up, as well as the Group D winner taking on the Group B runner up. Start times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date, writes John George in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup takes place every two years. For 2019, the international soccer tournament is expanding to 16 competing nations and, for the first time, the tournament will include matches played in Central America and the Caribbean.

Lincoln Financial Field hosted CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinal matches in both 2009 and 2017 and the Gold Cup final between Mexico and Jamaica in 2015.

“We are excited to welcome back the CONCACAF Gold Cup to Lincoln Financial Field and, once again, showcase Philadelphia as a prime destination for world-class soccer,” said Don Smolenski, Philadelphia Eagles president, earlier this year. “The Gold Cup is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious soccer tournaments and the matches we have previously hosted have always been met with great enthusiasm.”
