Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board to present Rev Run donation
The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) will present a donation check to Valley Forge National Historical Park today, representing proceeds from VFTCB’s 13th annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run® (Rev Run). More than 1,500 people participated in the race on April 22, 2018. Since its inception in 2006, the Rev Run has raised more than $400,000 for Park infrastructure improvement projects and programming to enhance the visitor experience.
At the announcement event, the VFTCB will also debut a new “Patriot Tales” comic book, the first in a series, which highlights history at Valley Forge National Historical Park and promotes the VFTCB’s Patriot Trails brand, according to VFTCB.

The presentation will take place at Washington’s Headquarters, one of the historic centerpieces of the Park. Visitation to Valley Forge National Historical Park provides a significant economic impact to the region. In 2017, the Park attracted 2.2 million visitors and contributed $46.5 million in economic output and 426 jobs to the local economy.
The presentation will also include a special storytelling performance from Historic Philadelphia, Inc. (HPI), as a portion of the donated Rev Run funds will support HPI’s “Once Upon a Nation” storytelling program in the Park for the 2018 season. This year’s funds will also support future maintenance needs of Sullivan’s Bridge, the new pedestrian span over the Schuylkill River, as well as Grand Parade Trail projects.
