Montgomery County Community College has awarded $25,000 in start-up funding to five area entrepreneurs. Each recipient received $5,000 in funding, writes Donna Rovins at pottsmerc.com.

The five were finalists in the third annual Karen A. Stout Start-Up Accelerator Fund Competition, which awards much-needed capital to fledgling businesses — capital the businesses need to get to the next level of their business development.
The grant recipients for 2018 are:
• Carvertise, which manages advertising campaigns on consumers’ personal vehicles and uses proprietary technology to track and provide analytics.
• Eoko Inc., developed a mobile app that will increase engagement with companies’ employees to build community.
• Mighty Writers, is a nonprofit that teaches writing and communication skills to youth in the region from ages 7 to 17.
• SmarTECHS LLC, provide software as a service for rapid deployment of work and safety processes to technicians in the field.
• Trisonus, is a hardware manufacturer for consumer-focused biotechnology and offers innovative devices that bring modern capability to researches at all levels.
