Located at 98 Dekalb Pike behind Frosty Falls Ice Cream Shop along the Schuylkill River, Twilight on the River is presented to the public on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from May through October, from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

From the ashes of devastation and defeat has arisen an uplifting weekly community event that’s giving Bridgeport residents reason to hope.

This past May was a bittersweet month for Bridgeport Borough. Seventeen years ago, a massive fire destroyed all the businesses in the Bridgeport Industrial Park. But May of this year also marked the “rebirth of the borough” with the launching of a community-wide program called Twilight on the River, writes Gil Cohen in the Times Herald.

Gundrum herself is a long-time booster of Bridgeport Borough. “I grew up on Fifth Street and I like the small town feel of the community. I like how the neighbors look out for each other,” stated Gundrum, who lives with her husband, John, on Grove Street.

Twilight on the River, the first major undertaking of Growing Bridgeport, made its debut in May and now, said the Gundrums, “Bridgeport Borough has something to offer its residents, It is a family oriented market and charity showcase that stimulates revitalization through civic organizations and encourages reinvestment in public spaces.”

John Gundrum expressed amazement at the success of the first Twilight on the River

“There were between 12 and 14 hundred attendees which completely astounded me,” he said.
