Pennsylvania is already the number one beer producer in the country, and to continue that growth a lot of great new breweries are expected to open soon.(MONTCO.Today file photo.)

No town is too small for beer. Two Chester County brothers are heading to Montgomery County to make beer with Brotherly Love in a new brewery – and due to growth in beer tourism, the new facility could attract more “new faces” to the area.

Construction is underway for Brothers Kershner Brewing Co. by brothers Kevin and Basil Kershner at 4119 W. Skippack Pike in Montgomery County, in what will be the town of Skippack’s first brewery It’s located at highly visible location, the intersection of Routes 113 and 73, writes Kenneth Hilario in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

There will be a 12-tap system, but just five beers will be available when the brewery opens. The beermaker will continue to create new beer to fill out the remaining taps — five will be used for core brews, including a Porter, Saison and IPA; five will be seasonal; and the remaining two will be one-offs or guest beers.

A light menu will be available because Pennsylvania beer laws dictate breweries must sell food to operate, but the brothers will leverage and support nearby restaurants, so customers can bring their own food.

The brewery is privately funded and all fundraising is complete. Financials were not disclosed.
