Schuylkill River Sojourn celebrates 20 years June 2

The annual 7-day, 112-mile Schuylkill River Sojourn will celebrate its 20th anniversary beginning June 2 as paddlers of all experience levels journey from Schuylkill Haven to Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row.

This year, participants will hale  from 11 different states, some from as far away as Washington and New Mexico, according to Digital First Media at pottsmerc.com.

Overall, daily attendance numbers are high for the sojourn. For safety reasons, only about 110 to 120 boats are allowed on the water each day, and most days are at or near capacity. In river communities all along the way, people gather on bridges and overlooks to watch the paddlers  pass.
