A new $75 million project across from the Willow Grove Train Station is expected to accelerate its ambitions to rejuvenate the area.

J.G. Petrucci recently broke ground on Station at Willow Grove, which will have 275 apartments and 25,000 square feet of retail space, at Davisville Road and Route 611. It’s taken the developer three years to get to this point, writes Natalie Kostelni at bizjournals.com.

In the end, five separate sellers involving a total of 11 properties were assembled to create a six-acre site that could accommodate the project.

“It was a lot of work but at the same time it was a lot of fun because this is the kind of project that is going to change the dynamics of a market,” said said Patrick McCabe, a broker with CBRE Inc. who represented Petrucci in the property acquisition.
