Tech Talk: Parents worry about balancing family time with technology addiction

With parents and children spending more and more time in front of their computers and smartphones, it has become a challenge for families to balance face time with screen time.

Five minutes on Facebook easily turns into 10, 20, 30 minutes. And why stop there? Dozens of apps on home screens beckon for attention,  columnist Lauren Sausser writes at postandcourier.com.

Experts have offered good tips, such as instituting screen-free Sundays and phone-free family dinners. Some suggest  deleting apps that you don’t use and unsubscribing  from junk mail that’s clogging up your inbox. Sausser has even tried changing her iPhone screen to gray-scale to break her  bad habit, but she found it was awful, and she switched back to a color screen almost immediately.
