A track team with no track to run on and fields without lights will soon be a thing of the past if this proposed project is approved.
The project, which will be located on Abington Friends School’s 50-acre campus in Jenkintown, calls for new athletic and fitness centers, replete with a multipurpose room and lobby, writes Ryan Genova for Digital First Media.
Officials said the school additionally intends to construct an outdoor track with a turf field in its center. The track and field would be open for public use.
“At present, we have a track program without a track,” Head of School Rich Nourie said. “Our team’s T-shirts say ‘No Track, No Problem.’”
Mike Rufo, president and founder of Anchor Management Group, Conschohocken, presented plans for a state-of-the-art outdoor lighting system.
