GlaxoSmithKline, with a research lab in Collegeville, is the latest in a line of pharmaceutical manufacturers that are working on a potential coronavirus vaccine.

Richard Heaney and Edmund Campbell, representatives of developer Brian O’Neill, presented to West Conshohocken Borough Council recently details on a redevelopment project it’s working on — “Innovation 1-476.

The site, which has been a major GlaxoSmithKline campus, is 100 acres that spans Upper Merion (60 acres) and West Conshohocken (40 acres). GlaxoSmithKline is in the process of moving most of the employees and operations to another site and O’Neill is in the process of buying the land. O’Neill wants to transform the property into a “Life Sciences mecca” due to the attributes of the property and facilities and their proximity to colleges, universities and health systems, according to More Than The Curve.
