We announced earlier this year that Cirque du Soleil was coming to town, but what we didn’t know at the time is that they would be bringing a brand new show to Montco.

Cirque du Soleil is thrilled to announce a new production that will premiere in the Greater Philadelphia area this summer: Cirque du Soleil VOLTATM, written and directed by Bastien Alexandre and with Jean Guibert as the director of creation, the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board announced today.

Anthony Gonzalez, from international electronic group M83, previously announced as composer and musical director, brings his space-age future pop sound to the Cirque du Soleil stage for the first time ever. The show will be presented under the Big Top next to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, minutes from the King of Prussia Mall, starting July 12th, 2018. The name VOLTA refers to a sudden about-face, a change in emotion or idea often used in poetry. It also speaks to the jolt of energy delivered through the show.

Access to the best seats and prices are available for existing Cirque Club members starting today, February 27, 2018. Visit cirquedusoleil.com/cirqueclub to sign up for a complimentary membership. Cirque Club members receive advance access to the best seats under the Big Top, at the best price. Tickets will be available for purchase to the general public beginning March 9th by visiting cirquedusoleil.com/volta or calling 1-877-9CIRQUE (1-877-924-7783). Tickets are available starting at $49.

VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of streets sports and performances, the show weaves the adrenaline rush of acrobatics into a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score.

We’re beyond thrilled that a show of this caliber chose to be in Montgomery County!” said Mike Bowman, President & CEO of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board. “This just proves that Montco is really on the map as a key tourist and arts destination. We encourage everyone to book their tickets, and then plan their stay!”
