With eyes on the future and a strong comprehensive plan in the works, Montgomery County Commissioners issued an update recently on where the county is headed.

Montco 2040, as its name implies, is a forward-thinking initiative adopted in 2015 to lay out a strategic plan for the county’s development heading into the next half of the century, writes Oscar Gamble in The Times Herald.

One of the visions of the commissioners is titled “Vibrant Economy” and lists objectives designed to draw new businesses, residents and increase tourism.

The Montco 2040 presentation was made by Jody Holton, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Planning Commission, who highlighted some of the major plan achievements of 2017 and the goals to be accomplished this year.
