If Philadelphia Eagles fans were just as good leading up the holidays as their favorite football team approaching, they can expect Santa to bring plenty of Eagles apparel as presents under the tree this year, writes Kevin Tustin for The Times Herald.

The Eagles are flying higher than ever with their best start in over 10 years, going 9-1 and not only leading in their division, the NFC East, but also boasting the best record of any team in the league including that of reigning Super Bowl champs the New England Patriots.

As local sport stores load up on all things Eagles, fans have wasted no time scooping up all sorts of Eagles gear in this highlight season.

On the NFL’s store, three Wentz jerseys were the top sellers as of Tuesday afternoon, fans picking up his green, black and white game jerseys for a cool $75 each.

Stores like Modell’s usually have plenty of gear for all of Philly’s professional sports, but even smaller shops are picking up a few items in anticipation of them making great presents.

Clothes Quarters in Folsom is notorious for having too much Eagles apparel, but not as much is sticking around this year.

“Obviously, it’s going a lot better (this year),” said Clothes Quarters manager John Hall. “We always do well, but this year we have noticed a big increase.”

And which player is the biggest seller across all age groups? Wentz, of course.

“It’s Wentz, Wentz, Wentz … everybody wants Wentz,” said Hall. Jerseys and other apparel for players are still selling, with “more and more people grabbing Eagles shirts” as the season goes on.
