Montgomery County workers continue to enjoy the Philadelphia metro area’s top average wage, and it’s rising at a healthy clip.

Montgomery County’s workforce grew 1 percent over the past year, and those 484,800 workers saw their average weekly wage rise to $1,449, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ first quarter numbers.

Within the metro area, Montgomery County leads all others, though its growth rate over the last year was slowest of the Pennsylvania suburbs.

Its 5.7 percent rise trails Delaware County’s 7.9 percent, Bucks’ 6.7 percent, Chester’s 6.2 percent and Philly’s 5.8 percent. In New Jersey, Camden County grew at 5.4 percent while Gloucester increased 4.8 percent.
