Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA Finds New COO in Joseph Collins

Joseph Collins has been named the new Chief Operating Officer for the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA who will head the operations of one of the largest YMCA Associations in the country.

The PFVY in Royersford has 16 facilities from Berks to Delaware counties and an overnight camp site in the Poconos. Collins’ primary responsibilities will be to oversee the Childcare and Camp Speers YMCA as well as Membership and YMCA branches. He will report directly to President and CEO, Shaun Elliott.

“Joe’s unique blend of experience with operations, analytics, process and trends in the marketplace are valuable tools to support the level of service our families and the communities expect,” said Elliott.

Prior to joining the PFVY family, Collins was the Regional Director for Starbucks in Teavana supervising 70 locations. Before that, Collins spent over a decade working in management at popular chains such as Home Depot and Target. During his tenure at Target, Collins was instrumental in leading the growth strategy for hundreds of retail locations.

Collins holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee University as well as an MBA from Columbia Business School. He also served in the Army as a Signals Officer, before advancing to become an Engineering/Plans Officer and Operations Officer.
