The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board gathered 200 members and guests at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on Monday for a travel rally to promote the region’s attractions and tourism highlights.

The rally coincided with the Board’s second annual Destination Montco Golf Classic and was held in support of National Travel & Tourism Week, a nationwide annual salute to travel and tourism organized by the U.S. Travel & Tourism Association.

“We are thrilled to debut our First Annual Golf Guide which highlights the County’s 54 golf courses and will be distributed to more than 10,000 golfers thanks to our partnership with Sports Illustrated,” said Mike Bowman, president and CEO of the VFTCB.

In addition to highlighting the county’s 54 golf courses, the Guide also includes historic tournament stories and profiles on local golf pros.

During the rally, the Board also revealed a new summer TV campaign showcasing the faces and stories of industry professionals who enable tourism in Montgomery County to thrive, and launched the new Adventure Montco brand.

“Our new ‘We’re Ready’ TV campaign spotlights the variety of attractions to experience in Montgomery County this summer,” said Ed Harris, VP of Marketing and Communications for the VFTCB.

“From the new LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Plymouth Meeting to the ‘Trail of the Jaguar’ exhibit at Elmwood Park Zoo, and several other key attractions highlighting our golf, dining, and history, we’re excited to tell our story in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and New York.”
