After more than three decades of helping parents bring joy to their kids with new and exciting toys, Pun’s Toy Shop in Bryn Mawr will be closing its doors on June 22, writes Linda Stein for Main Line Times.

Joe Berardoni, the shop’s owner for the last 21 years, recently hung a closing sale sign in the store’s window offering a 30 percent clearance discount.  What made Pun’s unique is that in addition to offering the latest toys, Berardoni always maintains a stock of the classics.

“My philosophy as a buyer has always been if I can find a toy that’s still around and I played with, I put it in Pun’s,” he said.

While the store is still doing well, Berardoni said he received an offer for the building that he simply could not refuse. However, he still intends to remain in the toy business either as a consultant or a manufacturer’s representative.

Since announcing the closure, Berardoni has received an outpouring of support from the community.

“It’s been wonderful to see how loyal they have been. I’ve made a lot of friends here at Pun’s. I really have,” he said.
