Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for LAWYERPALOOZA, a once-in-a-lifetime event from the Montgomery Bar Foundation.

The Montgomery Bar Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the Montgomery Bar Association, is celebrating 30 years of giving with a once-in-a-lifetime concert event, performed by lawyers who rock!

Stand out and show your support for local, justice-related causes by being a sponsor of LAWYERPALOOZA, a unique benefit concert on June 1 at The Ardmore Music Hall that will feature homegrown talent and surprise guests.

Enjoy a casual, fun, stress-free night out with friends, family, clients, and colleagues, while helping to support the community.

Experience rare live stage performances by local lawyers whose musical talents and stage credits span local clubs, coffee houses and primetime concert venues like Philadelphia’s World Café Live, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Since its formation in 1987, the Montgomery Bar Foundation has recognized and supported the exceptional work of individuals and organizations throughout Montgomery County. It has awarded more than $655,000 in grants and special project funding to carefully vetted causes aligned with its mission of helping to ensure equal access to justice for all.

.

The concept of LAWYERPALOOZA reportedly evolved as Foundation officers, Trustees, and Bar Association staff weighed in on various ways to celebrate its 30th anniversary, while also generating interest and awareness for the Foundation and the mission-critical causes it supports.

While raising funds for the good of others is always a goal of the Bar Foundation, the idea of taking a break from the proverbial high-priced, black-tie fundraiser resonated with the group.

It quickly became evident that among the Bar’s 2,000-plus attorneys and judges were dozens of legitimate amateur and professional musicians who perform regularly for stress relief, recreation, or supplemental income when not practicing law.

A call for talent in the Association’s weekly e-newsletter followed, and the responses received were encouraging to say the least.

Who knew, for example, that one area firm, Marshall Dennehey, has a house band, Class Action and The Marshall Dennehey Horns, finalists in Fortune magazine’s Battle of the Corporate Bands Competition, that actually performed live at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?

Who knew that Mark Schultz, an organizer and one of the first to sign on as a sponsor for LAWYERPALOOZA, is the same legendary bluegrass artist who regularly performs before thousands at popular events like The Philadelphia Folk Festival, doubling as the front man for the critically acclaimed Mark Schultz and the Wayne Rangers?

Who knew that Assistant U.S. Attorney Virgil Walker performs in major venues from Connecticut to Florida and every state in between with his band CTO Midtown Express?

Who knew there were so many road-traveled musicians who’ve gained valuable trial experience before live audiences, spanning local clubs and coffee houses to primetime venues like Lincoln Financial Field and Philadelphia’s World Café Live?

And of course, who better to emcee a once-in-a-lifetime 30th anniversary event like this than The Honorable Gary S. Silow of the 38th Judicial District Court of Common Pleas in Montgomery County, a former stage performer in his own right?

Other scheduled acts include:

  • the long-awaited return of The Public Offenders with David Conver
  • Out of Order, featuring Cary Hall and Patrick Kurtas
  • acoustic duo Brighton Road with James Bainbridge
  • Analog Groove with Alfred Abel, Mark Harris, and Justin Mixon

Of course, some lawyers have been known not to divulge all of their secrets until the time is just right. Even more talent is rumored to grace the stage of The Ardmore Music Hall on June 1.
