The former Ardmore Movie Theater that had been standing vacant for the last three years, now has a new tenant in Tropicraft, a store that specializes in outdoor patio furniture, writes Richard Ilgenfritz for Main Line Times.

The store is owned by husband and wife team Bruce and Zofia Halpern. According to Bruce, the pair has leased the space and moved their store from its previous location in Bryn Mawr.

“When this came up we really thought it would be exciting and give us the space that we need,” he said. “We have always been the ones that show the most and give people the most choices.”

The store has moved into the entire 21,000-square-feet of the former theater, with products displayed on all levels. The owners have spent the past several weeks filling the copious amount of space with their range of furniture.

One of the advantages of the bigger space, said Bruce, is that they were able to fit in some items, such as large patio umbrellas, which they could not display at their previous location.

In addition to its main product range of patio furniture, Tropicraft, also offers leather furniture, wicker, and rattan.
