The Maryland family-friendly sports bar chain signed a 10-unit deal for the Philadelphia region nearly two years ago for franchisees working under The Integrity Group name.

The family friendly sports bar and grill The Green Turtle will soon be opening its first Pennsylvania location in North Wales in Montgomery County, writes Kenneth Hilario for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Maryland chain signed a 10-unit deal for the Philadelphia region nearly two years ago for franchisees working under The Integrity Group name.

The first of these restaurants is currently being constructed through a conversion of the former Uno Chicago Grill restaurant at 1100 Bethlehem Pike in North Wales.

The restaurant will cover 6,500-square-feet with 248 seats. According to Tom Finn, vice president of franchise development, construction is midway through and is expected to be completed sometime in April.

The Greene Turtle first opened four decades ago, growing over the years to 45 restaurants with another 51 under development.

Finn noted that while the chain operates in the very competitive sports bar-and-grill segment, it is positioned a little differently thanks to its family-friendly and casual dining atmosphere that includes the “dynamic sports bar” element.

The chain’s customers also include more women which “speaks to the comfort zone that is our restaurants,” concluded Finn.
