MCDC Celebrates Annual Holiday Party, Charity Bash

Eric Jacobson, of IQnection and MCDC member, volunteered to deliver the 431 lbs. of donated goods to Manna on Main Street.

The Montgomery County Development Corporation (MCDC), an organization with a mission to promote the growth of business, industry, and civic welfare in the county, recently hosted its 6th annual Holiday Mixer and Charity Bash at the Great American Pub, with more than 150 people attending.

Each year, the MCDC nominates a charity to raise monetary and nonmonetary goods for. This year was Manna on Main Street, which works to end hunger in the North Penn region of Montgomery County.

Attendees who were not members of the MCDC had to have donated multiple non-perishable foods to stock the organization’s food pantry or make a monetary donation as their “entrance fee.” MCDC members also embraced the mission and made contributions during the event.

The event raised 402 cans/items that equaled a donation of 431 pounds of non-perishable food and $300 for Manna on Main Street. Attendees entertained themselves by getting photos with Santa Claus, networking, and winning almost a dozen raffle prizes that included $25-$75 restaurant gift cards and gift baskets.

The event included the introduction of the MCDC’s newly appointed Executive Director, Tiffany O’Neill, and the launching of the organization’s new website www.MontcoDC.org provided by IQnection, a digital marketing agency.
