By one calculation, over 240,000 babies have been born at Abington Memorial over the hospital’s 100 year history.

Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health, formerly Abington Memorial Hospital, has 665 beds and more than 5,500 employees, including more than 1,100 physicians, and is one of the largest employers in Montgomery County. It has the only Level II trauma center in Montgomery County. Some of the services offered at the hospital include The Pilla Heart Center, The Rosenfield Cancer Center, and Neurosciences Institute.

Compliance Manager

This position develops, implements, and the hospital’s comprehensive compliance program. He/she manages the hospital’s internal compliance auditing activities, including developing and maintaining multi-year and annual audit plans and conducting risk assessments. The person performs operational, financial, IT, coding, and compliance audit projects. He/she acts as the hospital’s privacy officer.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business finance, compliance, or equivalent. He/she will have three to five years of auditing and compliance management experience. The person will have a minimum of seven years of progressive management experience. He/she will have previous healthcare compliance experience.

Medical Office Coordinator I

This position coordinates and controls the day-to-day operations of the assigned physician practice. He/she provides service to patients of all ages.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, though an associate degree or office management program certificate is preferred. He/she will have a minimum of one year of office supervisory experience. The person must be familiar with medical office procedure. He/she must have computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent communication skills.

Medical Writer

This position stimulates research among the residents and staff and facilitates the publication of the research results. He/she completes identified IRB applications and edits clinical reports, statistical reports, and study protocols. The person writes research reports, assists in submitting manuscripts to journals for publication, and completes grant applications.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in bio-medical science. A medical or journalistic Ph.D is preferred. He/she will have a minimum of three years of medical writing or medical research and grant writing experience. The person will have excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
