Manor College in Jenkintown was ranked No. 5 among the Best Two-Year Colleges in Pennsylvania, according to LearnHowToBecome.org.

Manor College has received an A+ in Safety, according to the 2017 Safest College Campus Ranking from Niche, which has the most comprehensive data available on U.S. schools and neighborhoods.

This ranking is based on key statistics and reviews of data from the U.S. Department of Education. Colleges that received an A+ rating provide a safe environment for students, with little or no drug, crime, or alcohol issues.

“We are extremely proud of our A+ rating in safety and security,” said Bill Pepitone, the Manager of Security and Information at Manor College. “It is a tribute not only to the dedication and professionalism of our security staff, but to our students and all of our administrators who support our mission.

“A safe learning environment leads to a more productive one, and that is our goal.”

In addition to the excellent safety rating Manor College received, the college is hosting a Title IX Coordinator and Investigator Training program, to be offered by D. Stafford & Associates and endorsed by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania, from Jan. 9-12.

Three staff members from the college are attending the training. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prevents sexual discrimination in education programs that receive federal funds. Title IX protects male and female students, as well as faculty and staff, from sexual harassment by school employees, third parties, or other students.
