Haefele Flanagan Enters Pennsylvania with Bala Cynwyd Acquisition

Haefele Flanagan, one of South Jersey’s largest accounting firms, has entered the region with its acquisition of Bala Cynwyd’s five-person Ratner & Associates, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Haefele Flanagan 35 employee full-service firm mostly focuses on providing audit, tax, business consulting, and litigation support services for mid-market, privately-held clients as well as non-profit entities. Ratner & Associates, led by owner Steve Ratner, will remain in its Bala Cynwyd offices for the time being with plans to move into Center City in the future.
Haefele also participates in CPA Associates International, a consortium of 144 select independent CPA firms that has members in a number of major U.S. cities, as well as international associates in 58 countries around the globe.
According to Haefele’s Managing Partner James Rogers, talks with Ratner started last summer. He was attracted to the firm for its strong and diverse client base which includes professional service firms, restaurants, retail, and web-based sales businesses.
In addition, its strong real estate development clientele will provide great synergies with Haefele.
“They do mostly tax work,” said Rogers. “But they have some long-standing clients who are entrepreneurs. We’re hoping to leverage our size to offer them a broader array of services.”
