Lansdale Shopping Center to Receive New Look

Trefoil Properties, the owner of Hillcrest Shopping Center in Lansdale, is planning to give the location a new look with work scheduled to start as early as next year, writes Dan Sokil for The Reporter.
The center located on the 600 block of E. Main St. had been hurt by the departure of the Super Fresh supermarket seven years ago. However, interest started to reignite with the opening of the REbounderz indoor trampoline center, PRISM Brewery, and the nearby North Penn Commons collaborative nonprofit.
“The center has had a very successful 60-year history. Unfortunately, it’s had a lot of hurdles and bumps in the road over the last eight years,” said Jim Wrigley, president of Trefoil Properties. “We’ve had 40 or 50 years where it was 95-plus-percent occupied at Hillcrest. We want to get it back to that.”
The plans, presented during last Monday’s borough Planning Commission meeting, included two new freestanding buildings, each of them covering close to 3,000 square feet by the Main Street side. The plans will next be presented to the Lansdale’s zoning hearing board on December 19.
