Senior Underwriter (Absence, Disability, and Life)

This position provides financial analysis and utilizes modeling tools to evaluate benefit programs and their impact on overall business objectives, including the management and control of client risks and losses. He/she provides comprehensive underwriting services for large employers (3,000+ lives) with a primary focus on absence management, disability, life, and accident programs. The person represents and negotiates rates and plan options with insurers for and on behalf of clients to secure optimal, cost-competitive benefit plans.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in math, risk management, insurance, actuary, or a related field. He/she will have a minimum of three years of underwriting experience in benefits brokerage, consulting, or the insurance industry. The person will have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Business Developer

This position qualifies and develops new business leads to identify new sales opportunities. He/she presents product offerings to prospective clients that meet their employee benefit needs and financial goals. The person performs research for assigned market sectors in preparation for strategy while partnering with producers for further qualification and interaction. He/she uncovers and closes new sales opportunities by networking to increase contacts.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. He/she will have a minimum of two years of work experience in a sales, marketing, professional services, or customer service driven environment. The person will preferably have experience in B2B sales or outbound telesales. He/she will preferably have an active life and health license or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment.
