Cisco Systems Renews Contract with Blue Bell’s Strategic BCP

Strategic BCPCisco Systems has renewed its three-year contract with Blue Bell’s Strategic BCP for the use of its ResilienceOne platform, writes Joseph DiStefano for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

ResilienceOne tracks people, facilities, and systems to speed up decision-making during disaster recovery and business interruption. The maker of computer networking equipment first decided to use Strategic BCP three years ago.

“We are a global company. We have a portfolio of 2,700 applications, all inside the company. That is a large volume of work for our information-technology disaster recovery,” said Keith Cantando, Cisco’s Manager of Global Risk and Resiliency Management.

According to Cantando, the tool drastically reduces the time it takes to fully understand a situation as it occurs. What previously took 24 or 48 hours can be done within five minutes with the use of ResilienceOne.

“I’ll be determining what the impacts would be if an application went down. You work with an algorithm to determine how necessary that application is,” he said. “But now it can be done with a tool.”
