IKEA Looks Finds Potential Second Denver Location

IKEA, the home furnishings retail giant with its North American headquarters in Conshohocken, is looking at Broomfield for a potential second store in the Denver area, according to a staff report from EPR Retail News.

The new store would be IKEA’s 43rd outlet nationwide and although the plans are still provisional, the City is already looking to incorporate the popular retailer into the Regional Retail Center planned along the Interstate 25 corridor.

The site being considered is part of a 123-acre parcel of land 17 miles north of downtown Denver, located at the northwestern corner of Interstate 25 and E. Baseline Road. The land adjoining the potential new store could eventually provide opportunities for ancillary commercial, retail, or residential uses.

“We are excited at the opportunity for a potential second Denver-area IKEA store at this location in Broomfield,” said IKEA’s U.S. president Lars Petersson. “A store in this retail corridor would complement our strong presence established in Centennial and eventually provide customers in the northern part of the Front Range an IKEA store closer to them.”
