Pottstown’s moment at the center of the big screen may be short, but it will be thoroughly enjoyed by members of the borough this week.

Thirty-minute flicks — each tied in some way to Pottstown — are being screened every night as part of the inaugural Pottstown in Focus Short Film Festival.

And at the center of the blockbuster bash will be homegrown movie star Dartel McRae, best known for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire,” “Celebrity Ghost Stories,” and ABC’s “Black Box.” McRae is scheduled to promote his new growing-up-in-Pottstown feature film “Intermission” at the Hill School Center for the Arts.

“We are hopeful that this event will spark interest in continued improvements and promote a sense of borough pride,” Assistant Borough Manager Erica Batdorf said in 21st Century Media preview by Brian Bingaman. “It’s unique and there is something for everyone.”

Short film genres vary from comedy to fiction, science fiction, music video, documentary, and “A Love Letter to Pottstown.”
