North Penn, MCCC Graduate Entrepreneur Launches B2B Social Media Marketing Company
Andrew Belton did not wait for his learning days at Montgomery County Community College to be over before he started his own business, writes Theresa Katalinas for the school’s website.
A 2014 North Penn High School graduate, Belton started Symmetrical Media Marketing during his winter college break in 2015 and found that becoming an entrepreneur while still studying proved to be beneficial as “I was able to get a lot of aid from teachers and local mentors.”
Even before he started his social media business, Belton was part owner of a t-shirt company together with a few other MCCC students.
“The social media marketing business is much more viable,” commented Belton. “I always had the entrepreneurial spirit, but I didn’t explore it until I was here.”
Belton graduated from MCCC in May with a Liberal Studies degree and will transfer to Delaware Valley University in the fall as part of the dual admissions agreement between the two institutions. His plans are to major in Business Administration with a focus on marketing, while minoring in communications.
Belton credits MCCC with helping secure his academic future.
“If it weren’t for Montco, I would not be in a situation to attend Delaware Valley University. It helped me to leverage more opportunities,” he said. “I’m extremely thankful that I came here. It was a great decision.”
