Montgomery County Community College Appoints New VP of West Campus

Montgomery County Community College has appointed Dr. David DiMattio as the Vice President for its West Campus on College Drive, writes Joe Zlomek for The Pottstown Post.

As part of his new responsibilities, DiMattio will oversee all aspects of campus operations, serve as a member of the Cabinet of the President, and will supervise growing the college’s outreach to Greater Pottstown.

DiMattio started working at the college two years ago as Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. During his tenure, the college introduced several new programs in environmental studies, cybersecurity, interactive media, database management, biotechnology, and biomanufacturing.

DiMattio also headed development of the Sustainability and Innovation Hub in Pottstown, which provides teaching laboratories for aquaponics, hydroponics, and engineering technology, together with the new Software Developer Academy scheduled to launch this month.

Previously Dean of Clare College at St. Bonaventure University in New York, DiMattio holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Missouri-Rolla and both a master’s and bachelor’s in physics from St. Bonaventure.
