“Can do” are just two small words that don’t carry much weight, on the surface. But in the world of a Navy SeaBee, those two words can make a big impact.  And when he was just 18 and  left he comfort of his Warminster home for the great uncertainty of the Vietnam War, Ralph Storti learned to embrace  those words.

Storti will say without hesitation that as a Seabee — and now as a Seabee veteran — he gets any and all work done without hesitation because of those two little words.  The catchphrase has become part of his personality. It bleeds into his passion for various projects — one that, most notably, has consumed more than a decade of his life, writes Katie Park in the Philadelphia Daily News.

The fascinating connection between Storti and that “Can Do” attitude weaves its way around the Da Nang  during the most volatile time of the war, and then back to Warminster. And it’s those two words who inspired him to build a memorial to honor veterans from the five branches o the United States military.

The one thing that helicopters were able to provide everyone was support,” said Storti, a former Peco employee who now owns a Willow Grove-based quality assurance consulting firm. “So whether it was mail that needed to be delivered to people, if there was a rescue mission, if you needed to replenish supplies to people — the helicopter was the easiest way to do that.”
