Journey Well MD Brings Specialized Women’s Health Care to Collegeville

Dr. Toya Gordon celebrates the opening of Journey Well MD at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 14, joined by Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce members and Montgomery County community representatives.

Montgomery County has a new resource for women’s health, and the community is already taking notice.

Journey Well MD, founded by Dr. Toya Gordon, officially opened its doors on June 1 at 300 Springhouse Drive in Collegeville, bringing a highly specialized and deeply personalized approach to women’s care that has been largely missing from the region. The practice serves women ages 18 to 99, and with over 100 patients already on the waiting list before opening day, the demand is clear.

A Subspecialty the Region Has Been Missing

Dr. Gordon is a double board-certified Urogynecologist and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgeon, a subspecialty that is rare in this area and addresses conditions that significantly affect women’s quality of life. Many women with pelvic floor disorders, urinary issues, and related concerns spend years navigating referrals before finding the right specialist.

“Urogynecology is still a highly underserved specialty in this region,” Dr. Gordon explained. “The conditions I treat can profoundly affect a woman’s quality of life, but many women struggle to find specialized care or even know where to seek help.”

Care Across Every Stage of Life

The practice’s name itself reflects its philosophy. Journey Well MD is structured around a woman’s full life arc — from early gynecologic care and preconception planning, through perimenopause and hormonal shifts, to long-term pelvic health and urogynecologic support in later years.

“The inspiration behind the practice name is helping women journey well through every stage of life,” Dr. Gordon said. “We focus not only on addressing what a woman is experiencing in the present, but also on providing guidance and support for what lies ahead.”

The practice operates on a hybrid model, with the medical division (Journey Well MD) offering both insurance-based and self-pay gynecologic and urogynecologic care, and the wellness division (Journey Well Renew) focused on hormone optimization, metabolic health, IV hydration, and intimate wellness featuring the Empower RF women’s wellness system, which Dr. Gordon notes is the only one of its kind currently available in the region.

Rooted in the Collegeville Community

Dr. Gordon chose Collegeville deliberately, as it’s where she and her family put down roots in 2020, drawn by the strong school system, the community feel, and what she describes as an up-and-coming area.

That connection to place is woven into how she built the practice from the ground up, literally constructing the office from concrete to completion with the support of local vendors and the township.

“As long as you have a sound idea and it’s going to positively contribute to the community, getting it up and going is easy in this area,” she said. “The community will support you.”

Montgomery County Commerce Department and Chamber Connection

The Montgomery County Commerce Department became part of Dr. Gordon’s story through a connection forged via the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce, which helped coordinate a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 14 — bringing together local business owners, chamber members, and regional representatives to celebrate the opening.

Jade Utz, Strategic Partnership & Communications Coordinator for the Montgomery County Commerce Department, presents Dr. Gordon with a Montgomery County Certificate of Commendation at the opening of Journey Well MD.

That event drew a representative from the commissioner’s office and laid the groundwork for continued community partnership. The Commerce Department’s support reflects its broader commitment to cultivating the kinds of innovative, community-serving businesses that strengthen Montgomery County’s economic and civic fabric.

A Practice Worth Watching

The early response has been striking. Beyond the waiting list, Dr. Gordon and her team have been fielding calls and building relationships well before the doors officially opened. The momentum, she says, feels like something real and indicates a community that has been waiting for exactly this kind of care.

“What has been most rewarding is hearing from women who feel seen by this model of care,” Dr. Gordon said. “Those conversations remind us why we started Journey Well MD in the first place, and they reinforce the need for a more personalized, relationship-centered approach to health.”

For Dr. Gordon, that response is both validating and energizing as Journey Well MD begins its next chapter. By combining advanced medical expertise with time, prevention, and genuine connection, the practice aims to help women feel supported, informed, and empowered at every stage of life.

Journey Well MD is the kind of business the Montgomery County Commerce Department is proud to support — women-owned, community-rooted, and filling a genuine gap in the region’s healthcare landscape.
