Magerk’s Pub & Grill Expands to West Chester in Former Iron Hill Space

West Chester’s former Iron Hill Brewery is set to become a Magerk’s Pub & Grill following the brewery's abrupt closure last fall.

West Chester’s former Iron Hill Brewery is set to become a Magerk’s Pub & Grill, according to building ownership and restaurant executives, writes Erin McCarthy for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Building landlord John Barry recently confirmed the news, sharing that the Magerk’s team had signed the lease to become the 10,000-square-foot space’s newest tenants.

The update comes after Iron Hill’s abrupt closure in September amid the chain’s bankruptcy filing. The company immediately closed all of its locations after amassing a debt of over $20 million.

Barry shared that he received eight offers to rent the space following the West Chester location’s closure that fall. He said that Magerk’s will fill a similar hole in the West Chester food scene, with pub-style food and a family-friendly atmosphere.

The new Magerk’s will join its existing Chester County location in Lionville. Menu items at the Lionville space include wings, cheesesteaks, and pub sandwiches, in addition to seafood and salads.

While the beloved West Chester location may be permanently closed, a select number of Iron Hill locations throughout the region will reopen this spring and summer. Philadelphia’s Center City location recently reopened its doors in April, and the Wilmington Iron Hill will reopen this weekend for Mother’s Day.
