Former Sixers Owner’s Huntingdon Valley Estate Returns to Market for $3.9M

Former Sixers owner Harold Katz’s Huntingdon Valley estate is back on the market with a massive sportsplex and luxury amenities.

A sprawling Huntingdon Valley estate once owned by former Philadelphia 76ers owner Harold Katz is back on the market, writes Ryan Mulligan for The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The property’s massive private sports complex is once again drawing attention across the region. The nearly seven-acre Montgomery County property recently re-entered the market for $3.9 million, just months after selling for $2.47 million earlier this year.

Located in Lower Moreland Township School District, the estate includes a 20,000-square-foot “sportsplex” featuring indoor basketball, tennis, and squash courts. It also has an indoor pool, sauna, locker rooms, and entertainment areas.

The estate was built in 1938 for George Elkins Jr., the first president of Abington Memorial Hospital. It spans more than 8,300 square feet with six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, eight fireplaces, multiple solariums, and side-by-side kitchens designed for entertaining.

The property was purchased earlier this year by attorney Marina Kats, president of Kats Jamison & Associates. Listing agent Joseph Bograd said renovations are already underway, including landscaping upgrades, tennis court improvements, and skylight replacements.

Katz, founder of Nutrisystem, owned the home for more than four decades and famously led the Sixers to their 1983 NBA Championship.
