The Union League of Philadelphia is continuing to expand and modernize its footprint in Montgomery County, writes Todd Romero for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The club has new investments planned for its Lafayette Hill property, Union League Liberty Hill.
As part of a broader push to evolve beyond a traditional city club, the organization is introducing upgrades designed to attract a new generation of members while enhancing the overall experience for existing ones.
Among the most notable projects is the planned Liberty Ballroom at Liberty Hill, which will significantly expand the venue’s capacity to host weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings.
Additional improvements in the pipeline include a new pool and wellness center, reflecting a growing demand for health-focused amenities and lifestyle programming. These additions build on recent investments across the Union League’s network, including expanded golf offerings and social spaces aimed at making the club more accessible and engaging.
Leadership says the shift is part of a larger trend across the private club industry, where members are seeking more flexible, experience-driven environments that blend recreation with social and community impact.
That approach is also reflected in the organization’s programming, which includes partnerships supporting youth golf and veteran initiatives.
