An evening meant to be heard, felt, and shared is coming to Delaware Valley University.

On Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 PM, DelVal will host Take Back the Night in the Student Center Courtyard, inviting students, neighbors, and community members to gather for a powerful moment of support during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Take Back the Night is more than an event. It’s part of a global movement that brings people together to confront the realities of sexual violence — assault, abuse, trafficking, stalking, and relationship violence — and to stand in solidarity with those affected. At DelVal, the evening will create space for survivors and supporters to share stories, listen, and connect in a setting rooted in respect and compassion.

The Network of Victim Assistance will be on site, offering speakers and resources that extend beyond the event itself. For many, that presence turns awareness into action, providing pathways to support, education, and healing.

“This event is an important opportunity to raise awareness, stand in solidarity with survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to prevention, education, and compassionate care,” said Karolina Dreher, DelVal’s Dean of Students. “We hope it encourages meaningful dialogue and reminds survivors in our community that they are not alone.”

The evening is free and open to the public. More than a gathering, it’s an opportunity to show up, listen, and stand alongside others in support of survivors — helping to create a community where voices are heard and no one feels alone.
