Act II Playhouse will debut its latest production, Annie Get Your Gun, the beloved musical with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, original book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, and revised by Peter Stone.
The production begins previews on Tuesday, May 26. The Opening Night performance is Friday, May 29. The show runs for five weeks and closes on Sunday, June 28.
The production concludes Act II’s 2025-2026 Season.
Annie Get Your Gun is the latest in a series of reimagined productions of classic, beloved Broadway musicals at Act II Playhouse. Shows that have a history of large casts and elaborate production values are inventively shrunk down to fit the small stage and intimate setting of the Playhouse theatre.
“ In doing so, we lose nothing of these legendary shows’ appeal, pomp and circumstance, and timeless nature,” said Act II Artistic Director, Tony Braithwaite. “In fact, our audiences are drawn into the action of the musical production more than they ever would be in a larger-sized auditorium!”
Past productions of this kind have included: Hello, Dolly! (2023), Kiss Me Kate (2016), Man of La Mancha (2014), and My Fair Lady (2012).
“Annie Get Your Gun is a timeless classic of the American theatre,” said Braithwaite. “It is brimming with an assortment of Broadway standards, including ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ and ‘Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)’ that is sure to have audiences singing along with the cast at every performance.”
In the title role of Western sharpshooter, Annie Oakley, is Act II Playhouse favorite, Renee McFillin, who returns to Act II having previously appeared this season in the comedic cabaret, Most Wonderful Time.
McFillin has starred in several past Playhouse productions, including Theatre People (2025), A Grand Night For Singing (2025), and Hello, Dolly! (2023).
Michael Issac plays Frank Butler, making his Act II Playhouse debut. Kenneth De Abrew is also appearing at Act II for the first time in the role of Sitting Bull.
Many of the other members of the cast are also familiar faces to Playhouse audiences, many having performed in past musical productions. Jeremy Konopka plays Buffalo Bill, Lee Slobotkin is Pawnee Bill, Dominick Sannelli is Charlie Davenport, Eleni Delopoulos is Dolly, and Cara Treacy, Gaby Moseley, and Patrick Ludt are the Ensemble.
Behind the scenes, returning to the Playhouse to direct and choreograph is Stephen Casey, who has helmed many past Act II musicals, including both A Grand Night For Singing and Hello, Dolly! Casey also choreographed Forever Plaid at Act II in 2024.
Also returning to the Playhouse is Dan Matarazzo as Music Director, Jackie Robinson as Production Stage Manager, Parris Bradley as Scenic Designer, Eric Baker as Lighting Designer, Janus Stefanowicz as Costume Designer, Bridget Brennan as Wig Designer, Alex Dakaglou as Sound Designer, Silverpoint Studios as Props Designers, Sean McGarry as Fight Choreographer, E.B. Bradigan as Scenic Artist, and Britt Plunkett as Technical Director.
The production team is rounded out by Gillian Rispoli and Kay Strine as Assistant Stage Managers, Jean Swalm as Wardrobe Supervisor, and Megan Wieder, Aileen Bancroft, and Rosie Norman as Costume Assistants. Suits are provided by Tony Laguda Formal Wear.
Ticket prices start at $38 and are available online, by calling the Act II Box Office at 215-654-0200, or in-person at the Box Office at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler. The Box Office is open Monday through Saturday, 2-6:00 PM. Student tickets are $15, and group discounts are available.
