Conshohocken-Based Health Tech Startup Keriton Acquired by Natus Sensory

Keriton, a Conshohocken-based health-tech startup, has been acquired by Natus Sensory, a global provider of pediatric and neonatal medical technology, for an undisclosed sum, writes Holly Quinn for Technical.ly.

Focused on improving feeding safety in NICUs (neonatal intensive care units), Keriton’s feeding-management platform should gain wider adoption worldwide as a result of the deal.

“They’ve got a very strong global presence in pediatric and neonatal critical care settings,” said Keriton CEO Adam Dakin. “So this will certainly create access and drive adoption of our platform.”

Keriton’s software eliminates manual tracking by using barcode scanning and automated calculations, helping to reduce feeding errors, a persistent patient-safety concern in NICUs.

The company will continue to operate independently with its existing team while benefiting from Natus’s extensive commercial infrastructure.

More than 60 hospitals and health systems across the country currently use or are under contract with Keriton’s technology, including Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, New York-Presbyterian, and the Intermountain Healthcare system. Last year, Keriton completed a successful 32-hospital deployment with the latter.

“It was a big logistical challenge for a small company, but it went extremely well because of the investment we made in our operations, our platform, and the scalability of our training and support,” said Dakin.
