A longtime Hatfield community fixture is getting a new name and a renewed focus on health and wellness, writes The Reporter.
Jefferson Health and Hatfield Ice announced a new partnership that rebrands the popular rink as Jefferson Health Arenas at Hatfield Ice.
The collaboration aligns with Jefferson Health’s broader mission to improve community well-being by expanding access to physical activity, wellness education, and preventative care. Under the partnership, Jefferson Health plans to offer on-site health screenings, educational resources, and wellness programming designed to meet families where they already gather.
Brian Sweeney, regional president of Jefferson Health, said the rink plays an important role in building confidence in kids, connecting families, and encouraging healthy habits early in life. Jefferson aims to bridge recreation and clinical care in a way that feels accessible and community-driven.
The rink will continue to host local youth and collegiate hockey teams, along with public skating, figure skating, and birthday parties throughout the year. Plans are also underway for a public grand opening celebration in late March.
As new Jefferson Health signage rolls out across the facility, organizers say the partnership represents a shared commitment to keeping Hatfield active, connected, and healthy.
