Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking dedicated professionals to join its collaborative and mission-driven team, with open roles such as Part-Time Academic Advisor.

The Part-Time Academic Advisor provides one-on-one, as well as group academic, career, and college transfer advising to students, resulting in a heightened level of student engagement, comprehensive decision-making, and utilization of a vast array of services to support student success.

This position is five days per week, with a total of 25 hours per week. During peak times, this role may work up to 29 hours. Must be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours.

*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations.
**This position requires the candidate to submit the following three clearances as a condition of pre-employment: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Check, and FBI Fingerprints
***Flexible work may be considered for this position.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of student development theory, including career and transfer decision making.
  • Experienced in developmental or college-level advising.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of technologies.
  • Evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.
