Part-Time Student Services Assistant
The Part-time Student Services Assistant will provide support to both new and returning students at the College as part of the College’s mission of access, retention, and completion, with responsibility for ensuring a high level of customer service through support of the Student Services Resource Center, duties at the Student Services Welcome Desk, support of the Enrollment Services Assistants and providing support in the Testing center.
This includes in-person and back-office duties. Service touchpoints will include the use of the following methods: in person, phone, email, text, online, Starfish, Zoom, and other self-service systems to support student success. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 2-7:00 PM; Friday, 12-5:00 PM; and Saturdays, as needed. This position is 25 hours per week. During peak times, employees may work up to 29 hours.
*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The primary office location will be the Blue Bell campus.
**This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required, with three years of work-related experience required, or an associate’s degree may be preferred, with one to two years of work-related experience required.
- Proficiency in computer skills required.
- Excellent communication, both written and oral.
- Specialized training in specific software or processes may be required.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to use some discretion and judgment.

Campus Safety Officer – 2nd Shift
The Campus Safety Officer is responsible for providing for the safety of all members of the college community and protecting the assets of the College and those of its constituents. Campus Safety Officers will strive to promote an atmosphere that is safe and secure and thereby contribute to the academic excellence of Montgomery County Community College. Campus Safety is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year operation.
*Assignments shall include weekends and holidays, and this position works outside in all weather conditions and under possible hazardous conditions.
**This person should be able to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of emergency equipment and/or materials, including fire
extinguishers and evacuation chairs. Physical stamina is required for prolonged standing, walking, and patrols as related to job
functions.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of directly applicable work experience.
- Willing to work a varied/flex schedule to accommodate departmental workloads and shifts, including assignments to other shifts.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine the proper course of action.
- Must respond to emergency call-ins.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain mandatory First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Subject to routine background investigations.

STEM Lab Coordinator
The STEM Lab Coordinator oversees the STEM department’s Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology laboratories. In particular, the coordinator is responsible for coordinating and preparing Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology labs taught in Blue Bell.
The coordinator guides the programming, maintenance, and use of the Sustainability Lab. In partnership with the STEM Lab Manager/STEM Laboratory Safety Officer, the coordinator will ensure safe and efficient operations of all STEM laboratories. The coordinator will supervise part-time STEM laboratory assistants, student lab aids, and other laboratory-associated support staff.
This is a college-wide position that requires travel among campuses.
Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated experience managing undergraduate laboratories preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and standard laboratory procedures required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of software as related to position requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team-oriented setting.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask.
